Automatic Hook System

The Manibus solution enable safe and efficient cargo handling, with reduced emissions and lower cost in all areas of operation.

Key features

• Personnel is removed from the line of fire

• Closer packing of containers - no need for access lanes

• Easy cherry-picking

• Extended weather window

• Faster turn-around of PSV's

• Reduced emissions

• Works with existing cranes and cargo

Operating principle

The Manibus Lifting Automatic Hook Unit (AHU) is attached to a standard crane hook.

Behind the concept

Manibus Lifting was born from more than 25 years of offshore operational experience and a clear unresolved challenge: cargo transfer still requires personnel to enter the line of fire during crane-to-cargo connection.
The concept was initiated by Ronny Tøvik and further developed together with partner Diinef, combining offshore lifting experience with mechanical design, lifting equipment knowledge and product development expertise.
Designed in cooperation with crane operators, lifting personnel and hands-on specialists, Manibus is built around real offshore operations — enabling safer, faster and more robust cargo handling with existing cranes and cargo units.
